An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck on Sunday in China's Shandong province. The earthquake occurred at 2:33 am local time, at a depth of 10 kilometers. A total of 59 aftershocks were recorded by 8 am. Tremors were registered, including in Beijing and Tianjin, as well as in the provinces of Henan and Hebei. Many people ran outside after the earthquake and sat on the sidewalks in the predawn darkness. Video posted on social media shows bricks falling from cracked walls. As of Sunday morning, 21 people were injured. As a result of the earthquake, 126 houses were damaged. Rescue teams have been dispatched. Beijing Railway announced the cancellation of more than 60 trains on Sunday.
