In June 2022, I placed a camera trap, or trail camera as it's also known, on a well-used game trail that leads to a small natural waterhole in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate with the hope of capturing all the animals that come down to drink.
The camera trap was up for about three weeks and took video clips throughout the day and night. Zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impalas, waterbuck, vervet monkeys, duikers, warthogs and even leopards walked past the camera trap!
Each month I will move the camera trap to a new location in the hope of capturing different areas, angles and animals in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. If you enjoy camera trapping, keep following this series!
