There’s all kind of weird security footage out there online. There’s just something about the black and white footage that makes us want to watch, though. It could be the horror movie vibes we get from the clips, or the fact that some of us just really, really like to be kept on the edge of our seats. Either way, there’s many clips out there on the Internet that give people goose bumps, with some of them being terrifying enough to give people nightmares. Here’s ten of the creepiest things ever caught on security cameras.
Humans aren’t fans of masks. They give us this weird uncanny valley feeling, like the person behind the mask knows something we don’t. Combine that with the person in the mask being naked, and you’re in for a terrifying encounter. Peeping toms are relatively common, but when they have no clothes on, they make the situation a whole lot worse. That’s unfortunately what happened to one couple, who one night heard someone creeping around their front yard. Their security cameras captured a naked man creeping around their porch with nothing but a mask on. The mystery is still unsolved, with no one knowing who was behind the mask and what they were doing exactly.
Unknown Man
When money goes missing once, you just think you’ve maybe misplaced it. When money goes missing again, you think maybe you spent it without really realising it. But when money goes missing again and again and again, it’s only natural to start getting suspicious. That’s exactly why one woman in China set up a camera in her home. She thought she might have been sleepwalking and was just misplacing the money, but she had no idea that the truth was so much scarier. She wasn’t sleepwalking: a man was breaking into her house over and over while she was sleeping. He was the one who was taking her money, and this footage shows him creepily staring into the camera.
Kenya Mall Attack
It began as just a normal day. People were doing what everyone else does when they have free time: shopping, and while they were innocently walking around a mall, they had no idea what was about to happen. Four men in masks entered the mall and began shooting, causing so much havoc that their shots even started a fire. The attack apparently lasted several hours, meaning the gunmen were running around and tormenting their victims for quite a while. Security footage shows the men walking around the mall with huge guns in their hands. The shoot at people casually while bystanders have no choice but to just run for their lives. The shocking footage reveals people fleeing, trying to escape the men and their guns, and while a lot did get away, there were some who still sadly lost their lives. All together, seventy one people had their lives ended that day, including the attackers. One of the saddest parts about this attack was the day it fell on: the 21st of September, which is the International Day of Peace.
Killer Clowns
There’s one fear that a lot of people seem to have in common: clowns. And not the friendly ones that make you laugh, we’re talking about the ones that creep up on you in the middle of the night, trying to scare you. Like these clowns that were caught on several security cameras. In some of the footage you can see the clowns stalking around the front of a house with a balloon, while another one just stands there looking at the house. Were they waiting for something? Were they watching someone? No one really knows. All that can be said about these creepy clowns is that we’re glad they’ve stopped showing up and making terrifying appearances.
Dobby
We all know Harry Potter characters are fictional, but it seems like one may have come to life just this year. Back in June, the world went crazy when security footage of what appeared to be some strange creature was released. It showed a woman’s driveway in the middle of the night, with a stranger walking around that also appeared to be dancing. Some said it was Dobby from Harry Potter, while others think it was a straight up alien walking on Earth. It does some weird walk towards the end of the video, which further sparks the alien theories. Whether it was an elf or an alien, it’s still super unnerving.
